The Female Fighter Series (Guernica Magazine)

The Female Fighter Series was created to pair women writers with female fighters around the world to explore the distinctive personalities and politics that draw women into violent armed resistance movements. The series will formally launch on January 17, 2017, in partnership with Guernica Magazine and V-Day.

The first piece in the series, “Difficult Forgiveness” , by Valeria Luiselli and Marta Lopez explores inter-generational political perspectives of women across Latin America through an extended conversation with Sandra, a recently de-mobilized member of the FARC in Colombia. Read the piece here.
